Now I would say that we have Spring here. Easter has just passed and The typical Easter flowers are blooming. I took some pictures from my dad's garden just around Easter, some of which I will show in this post.
Nothing much has happened since my previous post, except, of course, working as usual, more than I really should.
I'm still using my exercise bike and I can feel quite a difference from it, when I started using the bike, just as I got it, I was out of breath already after a minute or so, now I can use it for 15 minutes or more, without noticing any problem with being out of breath.

Last week we had the first real snow for this winter. As you saw on the pictures in my last posting, there was quite a bit of snow, and just a few days later, it looked like this. And, as usual, the weatherman was wrong when he said that we should have more snow the week after. Not that I complain though, my feeling about snow is that we can have a little snow just around the Christmas days and New Year.
Other than the snow being gone, nothing much has happened since my last post. I continue with my exercise on my exercise bike, now around 10 KM a day. As I mentioned, I want to avoid overdoing the exercise, considering that I haven't done much exercise for the last 10 years or so. I'm starting to feel an improvement from the exercise so I will continue. I'm very impressed by myself, doing exercise like that was something I could never even dream about doing just 5 years ago.
And now, back to work again.

About a week ago the weatherman said that spring was on its way. As I mentioned in my previous post, we have not had anything that even looked like winter this year but now when we were expecting spring, and already have seen a lot of spring flowers showing up, we get snow instead. Not very much, perhaps, something like 5 cm (2 inches) or so, but still, that is more than we had for a long time.
It has also been colder then we have had so far, the whole time when it should have been winter we had about 1 to 5 degrees C (33 to 41 F) but now we have had temperatures around -5 to -10 C (23 to 14 F).
The only ones that probably will love the weather are the children, it is spring break here right now so they are now out skiing and having fun in the snow.
Of course, the snow is also creating a lot of traffic accidents and other problems like that. The weatherman just told us that most of next week will be the same cold and snowy weather so I guess I will have to drive carefully when going to my dad this weekend.

I have done it again, not made any post here for a very, very long time. No excuse really, just the usual, working more than I should. Of course, as I have mentioned before, my dad had a stroke just shortly after I came home to Sweden in 2005 and I started to help him then, helping him with his shopping and things like that, 2 days a week which is about 10 - 12 hours a week. Even now, 4 years after he had the stroke, I do that. That in addition to my regular work and so, it doesn't give me much time for myself.
Since my previous pictures from my apartment I have of course gotten furniture in my living room. One other thing that I just got is an exercise bike, shown here while I was putting it together, an exercise in it self. You still see the plastic bags and boxes that it arrived in. I have already started to use it, something that I never thought that I would do a few years back.
Of course, I have started slow, considering that I haven't had much of exercise during that last 10 or so years, it is important not to overdo it directly, for now I only do about 1 or 2 kilometers a day, increasing as time go. Even with that little I already feel some improvements.

Gosh, now time has again flown quickly by, without me noticing it!
Well, I have been busy. In May I finally got my own apartment. After 9 months, or thereabout, I got an apartment, two room and kitchen, in the area where I lived while growing up. In a way, it is nice to be back here.
Of course, moving. I hate moving. I have been moving so many times in my life and it seems like every time I move, I lose something. Maybe not this time, didn't have much things to start with this time. But, still, just all that work with packing, moving as much as possible my self, them pay through the nose to have the heavy things moved, like desk, bookshelf and a few things like that.
The apartment buildings were newly built back when my parents and I moved in here in 1952 but have been kept up to good standard so even now, more than 50 years later, they are in very good shape.
Many things have changed though. As I think I already mentioned, one third of the population in my town is immigrants from various places in the world, some article I read somewhere claims that there are over 100 languages spoken in my town now, and of course many of them are represented among the people here in this apartment complex.

I should post more often but so much things happens that take away my time. All the spammers trying to use some of our clients blogs to post their garbage, so that I have to cleanup and block them, as well as other, similar problems that I have to take care of. And of course my usual work that takes its time, time that already have been eaten up by the spammers as I mentioned above. It would be nice to get a little time leftover for myself too, but that is just a dream.
And then I have a bit of a problem myself, I need to find an apartment before the 1st of March, or I have to find a nice box under a bridge here. I have been in line for an apartment for half a year now but it is very hard to find an apartment today in my city. Living on the streets here is not something that sounds very fun, especially since both March and April can be quite cold. Hopefully it won't come to that but with my usual luck, I shouldn't be surprised if it does.
Wish my luck.

The weatherman promised us snow for Christmas Eve but we got no such thing. Just in time for the days between Christmas and New Year we finally got it.
Personally I would have preferred to have the snow on Christmas Eve, would be nice to look at, and then gone again when the Christmas days are over. A tad of snow on New Years Eve would be fine too.
As a child I liked snow. As an adult I find that snow is only a lot of work. Not to mention the problems it create in traffic, with accidents and so on.
Other than that I would say that the Christmas have been OK for me this year, even though I spent most of the Christmas holiday alone. So now we are looking forward to a new year, 2006.
I wish all my readers a Happy New Year.

Well, well, well. Now it is Christmas Eve, which is the day we celebrate here in Sweden, not Christmas Day that it seems like most of the world celebrate as the day of good food and presents.
Back when living in the US, I, and my Swedish business partners, actually celebrated both days. Christmas Eve we celebrated 'our' Christmas, where we invited some of our friends to Swedish traditional Christmas food and presents.
On Christmas Day we were often invited to our friends for a traditional American Christmas dinner.
Well, now that is past time, I have celebrated Christmas Eve with my Dad, and the traditional Swedish Christmas Dinner but Christmas Day I will be by myself. I will try to call some of my friends on the over side of the Atlantic, to wish them Happy Holidays.
I wish all of my readers Happy Holidays and the best New Year of all. |

It has been cold during the nights for some time here, with frost on the ground in the mornings. But, today it has started to snow.
The picture to the left, taken today, just as it started to snow and also started to get dark, shows how the snow is slowly covering the ground and also turning the lawn white.
The ground is still warm enough that the snow won't stay but it shows what we now have to look forward to. Winter. Burr.
I have a Christmas tree. No, not a real, live Christmas tree, not a big tree even, just a 60 cm, about two foot, high tree made of plastic, sitting on top of a shelf. But, it is the first tree I have had since Garry passed away. Those of you who have read this site, knows that Garry was my boss and business partner for 20 years that passed away in February of 2002. We, the remaining business partners, decided the following Christmas not to have any tree and not give any Christmas presents, just celebrate quietly and have a small bit of the traditional Christmas food that we had for many years. That continued the next year and the next...
Now, being back in Sweden, I will give a few Christmas presents, only to my closest relatives, and have a bit of the typical Swedish Christmas food, but other than that, I won't be doing much special for Christmas.

Gosh. Time is really flying by.
Today I printed a bunch of Christmas Cards. Not that many really but enough to send to a few of my friends, mostly in the US of A. As I type this, it is only a month plus a few days left to Christmas. I have no idea what happened to the month since I last posted something here.
Christmas presents. The same problem every year, what to give to the people that I do give presents to. What do I give to my son? My dad?
One of the worst things I know, and this is something that I have had as a problem all my life, is to run around in stores and try to find something, fighting with all people that are also trying to find Christmas presents for all their family members and friends. I have always had the feeling that either I find something real nice but it is way to expensive for my budget. If it is not too expensive in it self, I get the feeling that I need to buy something equally expensive to the rest of my family or friends and then it is to expensive.
Or, I find something that is more into my budget but after I bought it I feel like it is a stupid present that wont be liked or will look cheap.
Oh, well, I guess I can start by looking on the web and see if I can find something nice but not too expensive. After all, I don't have that many people anymore to buy presents for.
